Wow, it's been a crazy couple of weeks here. Happy New Year to all. I hope you had a wonderful and safe holiday. The kids finally went back to school at the begining of the week and my husband finally went back to work as well. In other words......it's quilting time again!! Yeah!!

I am still working on finishing up the log cabin memory quilts that go with the matching pillows. Hopefully we can get them done by the weekend. But as any quilter knows there's always a another project just itching at you to get started on. And I've got one...or two, or three! LOL
Anyway I want to recreate one of the first quilts that I ever made. A dear friend is having a baby boy very soon and want to make her little one something special. The original quilt is shown below. I'm trying to keep the color combination similiar to this one but I think I might change it up a little and make the bears with a fringed edge on them or in fleece. Not quite sure yet so we'll wait and see what turns out. I will post pictures of the new one as soon as it's completed.

Merry Christmas to all

I know it's the day after but I hope everyone had a totally blessed Christmas. I know I sure did. Seeing all the smiles on the girls faces as they opened they're favorite gifts. Then to hear the magic words for me...."Mom, you need to make my doll a blanket for her bed!" Now, no, I typically do not need a reason to go and sew, but it just seems to make it so much more enjoyable when your creating something special for someone. I hope the quilt for her American Girl doll makes her smile as much as the doll itself did!

Well, it looks like we may be off to my favorite store...Joann Fabrics! Someone so lovingly gave me a gift card and they have some awesome specials going on right now! Check them out online or even better stop by your nearby store and have your own After Christmas shopping spree!

Custom designed quilts

These are just a few samples of custom quilt designs that I have done. I love to design quilts. There is a sense of accomplishment after drawing out a design and then seeing it all the way through to a finished project.

These are simple little photo wall hangings. Perfect for that small gift but yet so personal. Photos can be in color or black and white. Any color combination can be made to work to completely personalize your quilt.

Memory Quilts

Photobucket Photobucket
Pocket full of Memories.
This quilt is made up of envelopes that are all filled with fabric postcards. Each postcard has either a picture or a memory printed on it. This is a time piece that the young or old will enjoy. It is shown in Blues and Whites but would look great in any color combination.

Photobucket Photobucket These quilts were made for someone whose Father had just passed away. The quilts are made up of his clothing with a photo in the center. We tried to keep the shirts as he would have worn them as well as kept pockets from his pants on so that they may put little notes or trinkets in.

Photobucket Photobucket Here is another sample of a memory quilt. This quilt was made for a woman whose mother had recently passed on. Among her many beautiful outfits we also added in little phrases that she used to say so many times in her life.

I love doing custom orders for memory quilts. Don't think you have enough clothing left?!? I only need as little as a few outfits to make a small lap quilt. One can be made with or without photos, in almost any design that you might like. Contact me for more information.
